Retired Senior Leader in Cybersecurity/Author/Working Single Mom/Caregiver/Community Advocate
In 2025, she retired as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for IT and Program Audits at the Federal Communications Commission, conducting audit work to detect and deter fraud, waste and abuse and to promote economy and efficiency for agency programs…for the benefit of US taxpayers.
She was a dedicated civil servant for 30+ years, working in the Inspector General community in various agencies of the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice, and the FCC. She has been a Certified Information Security Auditor since 2014 and actively served as an IT Audit Fundamentals Subject Matter Expert for ISACA Global as well as IT Audit Controls SME and member of the IT Subcommittee for the Council of the Inspectors General for Integrity and Efficiency.
She enjoys every aspect of her work and always modelled a family first attitude when she became a leader. She is a proud mom of one daughter in college and a caregiver for her mom, who lives with her. She is active in her community serving on various boards and as an advocate for youth and young adults.
She is using all this experience and the ‘school of hard knocks’ to serve working moms ready to step into their next season…from where they are RIGHT NOW – not perfect, not having it all figured out, but imperfectly perfect in this moment.
Moms need HELP and they need a voice that will reach through the fog and bring them back to themselves….just a little bit at a time. I’m that voice. The authentic, transformational voice that’s been there and done that, plus some. And since I was able to find my way out and up – all while still showing up for my family. I know you do the same, but sometimes life gets in the way and things get fuzzy. I do not believe that moms must have it all together - with the kids grown and gone - before they get back to what they loved doing before the kids.
